How to get your own exclusive insurance leads
As an insurance agent, you would have to be able to generate leads that are your own, and not shared with other insurance agents or companies. To develop your own exclusive insurance leads, you have to be able to think well about the strategies that you use to generate new leads.
You may be familiar with different methods of getting exclusive leads, and you may have seen that not all of them are as effective as you expected them to be. Here are some strategies you may have tried, and are not as effective:
- Marketing to family and friends. This may be one of the worst ways of selling insurance. There are two reasons for this. The first one is that you would have to deal with a relatively small pool of people. The other reason is that they may be forced to buy from you since it would appear that they need to do you a favor. And if ever your friends or family do not like how the coverage or policy turns out, it would all come back to you as their agent.
- Cold calling. This type of generating leads are not able to produce as much results as other ways, and it also takes too much time. You may argue that it is the most affordable way of earning new customers, but the time it takes would just be counterproductive as a result. If you ever come to a point where you have to resort to cold calling, you have to know that changing jobs may be a better option for you.
- Door to door. Selling insurance by going from one house to another would just appear too desperate. Besides, families who are inside the comforts of their own house would most likely wish for you to finish talking and get out of their home. Aside from this, it would also be a very unpleasant experience for you since you would have to take so much time and energy just trying to travel and talk to people one by one.
- Poor advertising materials. You may have used a lot of advertisements but found no results. You may actually get a few leads, but the money and time you pour into these efforts would just be not worth it. There are a lot of advertising materials that you may have used such as flyers, stickers and signs. Aside from being a waste of resources and of money, this would not be convincing enough and is just plain scattered.
If you wish to generate your own exclusive leads, you would have to learn how to think out of the box and think like how a prospect would. With this, you would soon find the right prospect for you. Find your own strategy and stick to it. Explore the possibilities and think of the new and the now. This would help you stay abreast in the competition. Then, you would be able to generate more leads in less time.
